In less than three years, Dana and Edward Gainer have sold 69 of their turn-key mobile video game party trucks.

Edward & Dana’s Story

If it can break, Edward Gainer can fix it. If it can be imagined, he can design and build it. Born in Texas, he went to Central Texas College, served in the U.S. Navy, worked in building design and engineering, and ran his own satellite dish business.

Dana Gainer hails from Detroit, grew up on a farm, and has a successful background in sales and events. She managed weddings and corporate events before, combining her talents with Edward’s to start a video game truck business in 2010.

After trying several other booking platforms for about a year, they switched to Bookeo. Their business did so well that, in 2012, they started to build and market their own customized video game trailers. To date, they’ve helped start 69 other independent mobile video game businesses worldwide.

The Challenges

When the Gainers bought their first mobile game theater, it came with the seller’s online booking system. It didn’t allow them to change prices, promo codes, or pictures. And they couldn’t edit the company’s policies and procedures to match their service.

Even worse, the seller’s booking system didn’t work properly and often crashed. Edward and Dana became increasingly concerned that they were dependent on another – unreliable – company to manage their website and bookings.

Like most savvy entrepreneurs, they wanted a reliable, affordable booking system that they could control and customize to match their needs. They tried to create their own booking system using a spreadsheet and PayPal, but “it was very time consuming,” says Dana. “It only lasted about a week.”

Edward and Dana recently added a mobile laser tag truck to their services, which customers book either on its own or in combination with the video game truck.
